I have been investing since 2006. Started with geojit and opened new demat with mosl in 2011. Disgusted with mosl, I have migrated to zerodha-ilfs. Now im planning to consolidate my holdings with zerodha demat closing both ilfs n geojit account.
Here are the pros n cons
Pros
- If you invest in lacs per each tx, there is a considerable saving in brokerage
-no annoying calls asking to invest in x or y stock.
Cons
-service can improve. Even with full service broker, I have experienced pathetic service and ended up losing money in lacs.
Overall
-long term investors can consolidate in zerodha demat account. Close ilfs and move the holding to zerodha. I hope initiatives will be taken to provide better service as company and process are evolving. No annoying calls to invest in x or y stock and we will be solely accountable for our investment decision which works out fine for me.
