Highly disappointed, day robbers & cheaters

I am really disappointed with my decision to rent a self driven car from Zoomcar during my Family leisure trip to north India for two weeks(booking # JPS6VJJ4V)

There has been multiple issues and I feel cheated by Zoom and am ready to go to any level to take disciplinary action to claim justice.

Let me start with the most shocking and humiliating act from Zoom. I booked a Honda City car from 15th Nov to 27th Nov 2015 by aishwaryasingh23ing a booking amount of Rs. 32000 and Security deposit of Rs. 5000/-(refundable). During this span I drove around 3000 KM across north India. As per Zoom terms and conditions I was told to secure all the re-fueling bills and submit during the returning of the car and the bills will be re-reimbursed.

During my total trip I re-fueled the car for a total amount of Rs. 6989.85/- and submitted all the original copy of bills to the Zoom executive at the drop off points(also find attached the scanned bills). Also, during drop off the car had a fueled reading of 50%. Today a Zoom executive called me to inform that after calculation zoom has derived that I qualify for a zero fuel amount reimbursement. This is shocking, does that mean zoom’s Honda city can run for 3000 KM with 20% of its total fuel capacity(while I picked up the car it had 70% fuel as per the reading and during drop off it had 50% reading)? Is this not day robbery? So finally, they are hauling my heard earned Rs 7000/- without any justification. I have written them email and would keep it posted here.

When I received the car, all the five tires including the spare were old ones visibly having good grip.  However, no-one can ever judge if the tire had any previous damage. Just after 50 KM of initial driving, I felt that my steering was pulling towards the left and I pulled the car over to a gas station to check the air pressure. Where all the tires had around 31 PSI pressure, the front left tire had only 15 PSI pressure. I took air and continued. However, in next 150 KMs, I could feel the same issue again and found that the front left tire is completely deflated. I immediately changed the tire myself with the spare one and considering the next long drive I had ahead of me for 14 days, decided to fix the deflated tire asap. I pulled over to puncture shop as soon as I could locate one and the mechanic told me that the tire seemed to have an older puncture fix which has re-punctured and he would need to replace completely. As that was too expensive and not sure what quality tube he would provide I asked him if he can fix it without any replacement. He fixed for Rs 100/- and I resumed our journey relaxed. However, after drop off and final calculation I was surprised to find that the tire replacement was charged entirely on me(Rs. 4000/-). First of all I was not provided the car with a tire health check report nor the car was fitted with new tires. Then how can Zoom charge for a tire which had the previous wrong puncture and busted again while I was driving. So here, Zoom has found a great way not to refund the refundable Rs 5000/- security deposit.

So finally, for a trip where I was supposed to aishwaryasingh23 only Rs 32000/- to Zoom, Zoom has cheated me and hauled a total of Rs 43000/-. Now you decide, whether you would really like to trust zoom. I won’t and will never recommend any of my family or friends.

=Further update(after a day of above review)=

After I wrote the above review and took this issue to twitter, I got a tweet from ZoomCar stating that they are looking into it(my twitter handle @pradhan4u) and will contact me shortly. Next day I received a call from ZoomCar where they stated that the issue has been resolved and I would receive a full refund of the Diesel refueling charges(exactly Rs 6989/-), unjustified damage charges(Rs. 4000) will be reversed, my refundable deposit amount(Rs 5000/-) will be refunded as it is, a misc amount of Rs. 1000/- will be paid to me as expenses incurred by me due to pick up location change by Zoom. The only damage which I will have to aishwaryasingh23 was Rs. 750/- for crossing ZoomCar speed limit of 125 Km/hour once. So I was ready for a total refund of:

5000(Security deposit)+1000(Misc amount)+6989(Refueling charge)-750=Rs.12239/-

While I was in a cheering mood and was about to revise my opinion about zoom, I found Zoom is really not in a mood to give away the snatched money. Instead of refunding me Rs. 12239/- Zoom did some goofing up in the refund calculation and showed me a refund of Rs. 8239/- which means they still kept the unjustified Rs 4000/- tire damage fee with themselves. Really shame. I am pursuing this with few local dailies as well as administration. I will not easily let my heard earned money be day robbed by ZoomCar.

=Further update(after 3 days of above review)=

After creating a huge roar & cry and lots of pursuation Zoom finally agreed that the Rs 4000/- damage fee for the punctured tire was indeed unjustified and agreed to refund it back. Today finally the money has been refunded and I am finally happy:-) Though it has been really very bad experience, I would still give Zoom a second chance and increase the rating from 1 star to 2 stars.
