.Be the most positive person you can be, and then some.I know it is not always the simplest thingto do. Sometimes it is downright impossible to be positive, but the answer tothat is simply not being negative or allowing yourself to be dragged intosomeone else’s negative. Start simple with little positive things and make themhabitual, do them every day and then move on. Stay away from those negativethoughts, and when you feel one coming on… Smile!
.Be generous. Beinggenerous does not always mean with money. Be generous with your time or yourtalents are just as needed in our world as your money. Realize that Emerson’s Law of Compensationis always in effect. So give, give as much as you can, and never, never ever doit for reciprocity!
.Be a self-starter.Here is one of the most important tools in your success kit. You really need toget behind yourself and push, push, push! You know you can do it, you can doanything. So get going!
.Stop blaming others.Your success and your failures are yours. They are not anyone else’s, there areno excuses. Stay away from the easy-to-escape method of blaming others for yourissues. Stay away from the “what if’s”and all the other negative escapes. Step up – take the blame and just get up,brush yourself off and get going again!
.Go the extra mile.Give people more than they expect or deserve each and every day. Do more atwork than your job description entails. But in essence, if you want to move up the ladder, there isno quicker way than to give much more and do much more than is expected of you!
.Be decisive. In all decisions you need to be decisive. Think quick, act quick and be sure ofyourself. This is something that you need to work on and develop, but once youcan trust yourself, others will follow and trust you when you can make a quickand solid decision. It is ok to make a mistake, and from those mistakes youwill learn the right way to do those things you wish to do, but it is nevergood to waffle and be indecisive!
.Be forgiving (to yourself and to others). I know this is one of those “sounds much easier to say than it is to do”things. And I also know that for most people it is easier to forgive someoneelse then it is to forgive you. But both of these skills are a must-have if youare going to be successful. Simply be forgiving and always find a way toforgive yourself for those things that you just happen to do. You will feelthat great release and will be able to concentrate and focus on those goalswhen your mind is clear.
.Save Money. This is one of those “for all times” recommendations. The habit of saving isone that will benefit you in all times. When money is short…you will have some. When that “great – once in a lifetime” opportunity shows itself… you will havemoney. Friends, family and employers will all look at someone who is capable ofsaving with a different respect than one who seems to always be in need.
.........I have another ten of these I believe I willshare with you at a later date, but this is a great place to start. Go overthis list and make them yours, again, fine tune them to fit you and your goals,as well as your personality, but, try them, use them and live them!
