I am a user of hathway internet (Liteway - I) for the past two years - I am at times dissatisfied to the point of frustration and at most of the times ok
Plus Points -
1) Once the connection is up - it gives a stable service - rarely gets disconnected
Negative Points -
Too many!!!
1) Call center - absolutely pathetic call center - standard responses - incapable call center operators.
a) they say its a 24x7 but you would be lucky if you get thru in the night...on three occasions I tried to get hold of them but was unsuccessful - I get a welcome message and then silence - khamoshi....lambi khamoshi...so I tried getting them in morning I get thru to the operator in a jiffy. I ask him why cant somebody serve me in the night - (standard reply) sab busy honge sir - I thought busy at 2.00 in the night? you kiddin me mate?
b) Behaviour - Rude!!!!!!!!!! when I tried to argue about a point I was dissatisfied they hung me up twice
c) Capability - Problem solving is a big question mark - I had a disconnected internet conn at home and wanted to reconnect it - it so happened that my connection settings like IP , gateway , DHCP server settings were lost - so I just needed them - I kept calling them from home in the night but could not get thru - so when I rang them up in the morning from office and said I just need the settings can you please enumerate them - the operator answers sir can you please log on to the computer? I said I am in office and cant do that...he says then I am sorry I cant help you...i said i just neeed the f****ing settings - he was unhelpful
ON other occasion - the operator was walking me through the settings to applied - we could not succeed - in the end he says sir aapke laptop ke network card main kuch locha hoga - hilarious!!!!
2)Billing
a) it can be safely labelled as Conning - this is their most efficient department. comes on time - overbills you etc etc...
b) when you are on a fixed download limit - you would certainly want to keep track of your download meter so that you dont over download - their download meter gives incorrect information for most of t he time....in the first half of month they show unupdated figures so you are constantly under impression that your quota is not exceeded....at the end of month if you invariably exceed the limit and then billed for it..
In all I can say that I am satisfied when I am connected - but to get the connection and sales support is a nightmare....i also enquired about the other ISPs and their cust support and the feedback is more or less similar...so I would still recommend Hathway - but with a advice of caution
