I agree, local Honda service center experience (at Pune atleast) spoils the expectations one would have from the Honda badge. Honesty, timeliness and caring attitude is all we are asking for. Is that too much to expect?

(1) Great. I am glad to know about your VIN being in order. Note that J translates to Sep not Oct. So it is fine. For Honda cars look at the 9th and 10th digits of the VIN/chassis number for manufacturing month and manufacturing year respectively. Decoding: A = January, B = February and so on. 8 = 2008, 9 = 2009, A = 2010 and so on.
