Samir Karnik is soon to come up with his new directorial venture “Chaar Din Ki Chandni”. The movie starring Tusshar Kapoor and Kulraj Randhawa, is set to release on Lohri next year. The film revolves around a Rajput family and Punjabi family, who are caught in a situation which creates comedy of errors. The movie also stars Anupam Kher, Om Puri, Johnny Lever, Mukul Dev, Anita Raj, Sushant Singh and Chandrachur Singh. It is a romantic comedy and is set against the backdrop of Rajasthan at a four-day wedding. Samir Karnik has great expectations from the movie and hopes that it breaks the records of Yamla Pagla Deewana and does even better at the box office.

Apart from the comic element, another highlight of the movie is Ajay Devgan’s voice over in the movie. Generally Ajay Devgan who rarely does any special appearances or voice overs, has done voice over for the second time in Samir Karnik’s movie. Incidentally, the first time he did, was also for Karnik’s Yamla Pagla Deewana. Karnik says, “Ajay Devgan did the voice over for our last film Yamla Pagla Deewana and it turned out to be a hit. I have high regards for him. Ajay has a fabulous voice. He comes in the opening sequence of the film and introduces the characters and setting.”

Chaar Din Ki Chandni is a comedy laced with romance and is set against the backdrop of Rajasthan at a four-day wedding which makes it a complete family entertainer. Further, the title track of the 1989 release “Chandni” is another high point of the film, says Samir. “The idea of the song “O meri Chandni” came from the fact that the girl’s name in the movie is chandni”? It brings a sense of recall and fits the situation,” says the producer-director.
