JAI HO: Daisy Shah(24) Against the might of superstar Salman khan, this debutant held her own. She was perky, chirpy and she played a Gujju with aplomb.
GUNDAY: Priyanka Chopra(31) PC was pitted against two young heroes and the movie title pointed to it being hero-centric. But she walked away with accolades. This is one year when her cousin Parineeti too is in Top 10. The second cousin Meera too has debuted with GANG OF GHOSTS and who knows the three will tango together soon.(Touch wood!)
QUEEN: Kangana Ranaut(27) The empress has arrived and in style. Make no mistake. She has truly heralded the era of money-making women-centric movies. It is not easy for an outsider to make a mark in Bollywood. And Kangana has shown she has steel in her. Waiting for REVOLVER RANI shooting and setting BO to fire.
RAGINI MMS2: Sunny Leone(32) This Indo-Canadian of Punjabi descent was an adult star and walked scantily clad in Bollywood. In the two years she has been here, she has set the adrenalin pumping and raised the heckles of our plastic'heroines'. Acting and she maybe be connected via satellite but she is here to stay. Watch out. She may define B'wood future.
YARIYAN: Rakul Preet Singh(23) She is charming. She really torched the screen with youth and freshness. Look at the figures the movie has made. Wishing her stars and moon in her career. May she go a long way in being amidst the audience.
HASSEE TOH PHASSEE: Parineeti Chopra(25) She is steadily climbing the stairs of success the PC has already climbed. This cousin too is leaving a mark of her own. And Chopras r here to stay(apart from the legendary director's family.)
SHAADI KE SIDE EFFECTS: Vidya Balan(36) She may be married but she has not quit. She walks in again and sets new bars for married heroines. She is married to movies and her bond with her viewers has further strengthened. She is here for good of course with no side effects!
HIGHWAY: Alia Bhatt(21) She is a pedigree and she has proven herself. This is her second movie and she walks away with accolades. Take the name of the movie and her name comes to the mind. She takes after her father, the legendary Mahesh Bhatt. There r no consciousness of a newcomer. There is only confidence. Whoa!
DEDH ISHQIYA: Madhuri Dixit(46) She returns and returns(again and again.). Although cinema is a visual medium and heroins lose their sheen, La Dixit reutrns albeit resulting in flops. But then she had two films in Top 10 in Jan-Feb(the other being GULAB GANG). It may not've been easy to hold up against Naseeruddin Shah or Juhi Chawla, but she makes it seem effortless. More than the flop movies, I salute her never-say-die spirit.
BEWAKOOFIYAAN: Sonam Kapoor(28) Yes, she did seem a genuine bewakoof but then who isn't? She should select her roles with care. And forget the tags(fashionista), improve on her smile and work hard on acting.
