Review of the Package Deal by Fundoo Holidays 10 Days / 9 Nights Tour Part 2

Summary In Brief: Hundoo Holidays are cheaters, as they charges full amount from you in advance and then doesn’t make full payment to actual service providers like hotels / Resorts and Taxi drivers or Travelers (taxi driver and travelers). This results to getting worst services from them and horrific tour experience as taxi drivers in lack of proper remuneration speak foul language and put your and your family life to perils. Beware it is very risky; we have to change the driver in middle of the tour to save our life.


Planning and Itinerary scheduling:


We had a very mixed experience with Fundoo Holidays in relation to the tour planning and itinerary finalization as for our 19th Nov tour we have started discussion and planning as early as in the month of August and had to actively suggest Fundoo holidays.


Places / Destinations


We suggest following based on our overall experience:




  1. Thekkady deserves exclusively complete one day and we would have delighted if Fundoo holidays had provided us the details of various trips run by the Govt. in the Periyar tiger Reserve as then we would have planned accordingly based on our preference like trekking and morning nature walk etc.




  2. In relation to the back waters we prefer Kumarakom as compared with Alleppey as it is much more peaceful and decent non commercial place. If one had full day in Kumarakom then there is no need of again devoting one day to Alleppey.






Even at Alleppey strongly suggest there is no need of night stay in the houseboat as whole day tour in the house boat is sufficient and enjoying but night in houseboat is horrific and waste of time.


Taxi Driver and Vehicle


This is something that has spoiled our tour and forced us to carry sorrow memories from Kerala Trip as a whole. And later on we come to know that Fundoo Holiday ever after taking full payment from us had outsource the trip at such a bargained price to travelers that they don't care about tourist satisfaction at all and grossly misbehave making us feel badly terrified and horrified. They have treated us like inhuman and even threatened us against complaining to anyone.


Following drivers allotted to us turn around to be rude, misbehaving and indifferent to our basic needs. They turn down our simplest request (as simple as getting a single break in 5-6 hours journey for a cup of coffee, take us for lunch/dinner on a special occasion of Marriage Anniversary, stop the car instantly so that my son/wife can vomit out, take us to place of our choice right in the way towards airport so that we have not to wait on airport for 6 -7 hours after checking out from hotel) in spite of getting heavy regular tips from my father.

Postmortem of the Situation:


After returning from the trip we had written the humble mail (as follows) to management of Fundoo Holidays including personally talking to them with the intent of giving them an opportunity to clarify their position and take stringent action against the culprits.


Mail to Fundoo Holiday Management:


Please note just taking action against these specific drivers will not be sufficient and you need to develop a mechanism by which driver’s behavior can be checked / controlled and proactively action can be taken instead of reacting after the event as a postmortem of situation.


Think through what can be done to address this as whatever you (as service providers) and we (as client) agree upon in terms of itinerary / terms of contact / service level agreement, at the end of the day it is driver who will be carrying us and representing the Fundoo Holidays throughout our tour. He is the only face to face contact for us and his hospitality counts the most.
