Congrats on your new car? But 5.5 lacs on road for Titanium petrol? What is the additional package that you got?

@Route66, Yes. You are right about Ford design. Their cars are more functional than being flashy. To me the Ford Fiesta still appeals good than many other sedans. Moreover, Ford I believe has not manufactured reactive products -- Like for instance, the Fiesta was in development from scratch to sui Read More...
I am getting my car in 3 days (very short waiting time). I will post the FE figures in a week's time.
Regarding I10 and I20 I somehow felt that they are the new names of Santro and Getz. Need to check the engine specs
I am not an expert...but I believe the modern age diesels dont require anything other than the scheduld maintenance services. Please do check with some experts on this field as well. Regarding the petrol and diesel cost comparison on an EMI and monthly running cost basis, I didnt also know abo Read More...
@Vishak, Agreed...I should have seen those vehicles too. But then again as they are marketed through Tata motors, I didnt want to take it
Sorry about Chevy Beat. I saw the car and thought it was a coupe version in a hatchback. My friend clarified this last week itself. Since it was a petrol car, I didn't look into much details about it.
The Maruti showroom gave me a RITZ to test drive saying that it has the same engine as Swift. And Ritz has European design. The Ritz is a tall boy model and for me with my height, when I drove the car, had some serious pain the foot when I had to use the clutch. Not sure what was wrong here but the Read More...
The salesman at Kairali ford, gave me some extra sheets containing comparison of service and parts cost for Figo vs Swift, i10 and Vista. As per the data provided, the petrol version is 60% cheaper to maintain than Swift and 22% cheaper to maintain than i10. Figo is also 60% cheaper to maintain than Read More...
That reminds me of my decision to go for a diesel from a cost perspective. Lets take the Ford Figo as an example here. 1.2 petrol titanium against 1.4 diesel titanium. Let us estimate the monthly usage as 1500 KMs (national average). Let us assume we would pay 2 lacs as down payment, petrol price as Read More...
Regarding Ford, its a welcome move to stop the confusing Fusion (same goes with Chevy for stopping SRV which I never saw on the roads) which was in no position to compete in the small car segment. I also like Ford's approach of not having too many cars to confuse buyers (read Swift...Estilo...Zen... Read More...

@AskIyengar, When did Power windows take precedence over Rear Legroom for a small family car? Haven't the basic models of all small cars and also the 2nd level variant had only scroll down windows? This shameless Maruti does not have a top end variant in their diesel cars. When I asked the salesma Read More...
