The institute of hotel management, is situated near the historic city of Aurangabad. The institute which is a colaboration of the TAJ group and the maulana azad education trust was established a decade ago. And now is the the most sought after institute of hotel management in asia.

The university offers two courses to its student - 1.the four year BA hons degree of hotel management and the 3 year diploma in culinary arts. They hold there admission test throughout India, Dubai and London

The institute is well equiped with all the things needed in a hotel management school. With 2 kichens and more then 5 labs including housekeeping lab etc. the buliding is very spacious and sorrounding environment is just great with lots and lots of trees making it ideal for study purposes. When I visited the campus it was so quit that it was like as if the place is made for studies only. Later I came to know that thats the case with it as it used to be a place to train the sons of the indian kings .

The hostels too are state of art with all kinds of facilitties plus its near the Naval tata stadium and sports complex. The hostels have a great gym too.

The cafeteria is really a big one which serves all kinds of food from indian to italian to the student and is open all the time.

The one classroom I visited was having all nessesary things that u want in a classroom. The library too was good and the institute has a audio visual lab too.

The best thing about the institute is that the students from the first year of there studies participate in the working of the hotel which is attached to it. Its the TAJ hotel ( a five star hotel).

The place-ments are really good too. With the average starting salary of 4lakh per annum.

For me I am lookin forward to get into the institute.

Note- these are my views and the way I saw the institute when I went there to get the application form.

In todays world when the career options have moved on from Medical and Engineering, Hotel Management is a great option as a career.

This got realized by all and sundry around 5 years ago and then we saw a huge surge in Hotel Managent colleges. They are literally mushrooming all over the place.

From a 6 month diploma to a 4 year post graduation, everything is available. Entrance tests and interviews are relatively easier to clear as compared to medical or engineering institues.

Four major subjects covered are Front Office, Food & Beverage Service, House Keeping and Food Production. 95% students after college (no matter which where how) start as a receptionist, waiter, room attendant or a commin (cook). The only way to grow up is through back breaking long hours, and invalueable experince gained through years, although some major chains also hire as Managent Trainees, but probably only 5% of the total annual crop.

If you want to make it big in the industry, be ready to invest atleast 8 years of hard work after which you can reach a level where you can start enjoying the fruits. Once you have a sound service background, a plethora of career options open up including Ailines,Banks, Telecommunications, basically every industry which has a customer interaction

So the important thing is where do you do your Hotel Management course???

Well the best option are institutes run by the National Council of Hotel Management. (Run by the Tourism Ministry). There are around 18 institutes all over india, and a common entrance test somewhere in April.

These institutes offer a 3 year diploma, are wery well supported by the government infrastructure and the ILO (International Labour Organization). They are not outragiously priced and you get a decent placement as most leading hotel chains have a campus interview.

There are private institutes as well run by leading hotel chains but are very expensive and offer no job guarentee after completion of the course. Hence not advisable.

Small time colleges offering diplomas less than a year should not even be considered an option as they leave you nowhere.

So if you are ready for hard working long hours, enjoy customer interaction, want to live a fast paced life, go ahead and hopefully one day you will become a Hotel Manager. (Not immediaely after the course for sure)

I was the student of this college. This college is very repitetive. All the teachers staff are also very nice and they like the dought of the students . As you know the heart of the india cricket captain is MS Dhoni and his wife is also from IHM Aurangabad. Now you can pridect how is the college. Now come with infrastructure of this college . Infrastructure of IHM -A is like 5 star hotel. The floor are very clean and nice. Is any need here is the only hard work and your mind ability. So that’s my review . I think this may help you.
