I recently came to know of this site through my manager. Initially it appeared very attractive and in fact, the prices for many items are very competitive. With this enthu, I signed up for the book club membership and ordered a book on 11th June 2007. I saw the mention that the book "Usually ships within three days". Today is 15th June and no trace of the book yet.
I have mailed their customer service (no body picked up their phone for some strange reason) with the order number mentioned in the first line and got a response asking me for the order number. Then, they again mailed me that the item is shipped on the 4th day (14th) and I will get it by 16th. And, since I gave my office address there, take another two days off (for the weekend). So, in all probability, I will get my book on monday (18th June 2007), a solid one week for a courier from Bangalore to Hyderabad.
In this regard, I find amazon MUCH better than these guys. Coming to discounts, these days _many_ book shop ppl are giving discounts _almost_ equivalent to this site.
I’ll update once I receive the book, about its condition (to see if they maintain quality atleast).
As the title reads, if you want to quickly compare prices in the local market (or looking for good bargains), then check this out, but always physically go and buy from a local shop. This is my recommendation.
