I have been approached by my bank to buy this insurance. I really did not want to seeing their bad reviews but my bank Standard Chartered kept insisting me I had to buy it for 2 years and I disclosed to them that my mother has diabetes. My mother was admitted for Anaemia and the hospital informed MaxBupa about it. They pre-approved the claim. No one came to the hospital to check anything unlike other insurance companies. On the last day when my mother was about to be discharged they started asking for documents and said they made a mistake by pre-approving and rejected my claim saying that it is a Pre-existing disease without giving any document or evidence where my doctor clearly certified that it was not a pre-existing disease. My mother was discharged around 6 pm and I had to pay all the amount all of a sudden. I had to borrow money from others. I decided to cancel the policy and sent them a mail. After few months, they dooubled the premium and automatically debited my account as soon as I had one of my FD matured there.
Now my bank balance is zero and I have no money left for treatment.
