I purchased Samsung Series 5 40 Inch LED TV in May 2012 from E zone Central Mall Pune, India. About 4 weeks back(Sept 2013) the TV suddenly blacked out.
My wife contacted the Samsung personnel who sent in their authorized technicians who diagnosed that there is problem with the SMPS(some voltage regulating part). The technician in his next visit about a week later, got this part, but the TV could not start. He decided to come back with the new part since he doubted that the part he got was also faulty.
After about one and half week, the Samsung technicians came back with the part and tried to fix it. But again the screen was off. They diagnosed that there is problem with the display and this needs to be changed which would cost a whooping Rs.24000! I requested for a full waiver of cost as it was just 3 months since my warranty had crossed. The Samsung people offered me a meager 20 percent discount(what a shame after spending Rs. 60000 on their TV last year!)
Now, after going through all this, I am not happy, feel disappointed and mentally stressed. I had got the best Samsung LED TV after pinching my pockets for Rs. 60000. I was assured about the quality of this product and decided to go for it turning a blind eye towards other brands like LG and cheaper brands. And now after about more than a year, my TV is off and I feel cheated. The sales person boast that screen display(panel) will last for about 70000 hours which is about 10 years of use of TV. And Now my display is off in just 1.4 yrs!*
I really doubt the quality of Samsung products and really feel that the brand is not as great as it claims. The customer support is adamant.
PLEASE BEWARE! DO NOT BUY ANY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS.
