I'm 33, married and work for a multinational oil company. I live on a small island called Shetland, 100 miles off the North coast of Scotland. The climate is quite cool and rarely exceeds 20 Centigrade. I love it though. Scuba diving, skiing and reading books, travelling, writing, soccer and cricket.

Did you maybe miss the point here? The book IS seen through the eyes of a kid, and a mentally ill one at that, hence the extreme flippancy and 'smoking like a mad-man'.
I only gave you a recommended for this as, despite it being a good piece, I do not agree that she proves that the concept of charity and of being a saint is actually evil. She gives considerable evidence that if you view everything in a completely objective fashion, then capitalism is the best optio read more...

Good op, disagree about one thing though. I found the humour multi-layered, and some of it extremely pithy in an observational sense. For instance, the wry look they take to kick off with at Jerry Springer - this isn't toilet humour, it's telling people how stupid they are if they find such shows wo read more...

Sorry for the SR, never heard of the film so I was interested what it's about, but you haven't really told me much. If you add anything let me know and I'll rerate it if you like.

It was indeed;-) Thats all I had to say, but apparently 3 words isn't good enough round here. Verbosity rules ok.
Hi Louise, yes, I did pan it big style, but I was in Turkey and HAD to finish it as there was nothing else, which made it even worse, so maybe I was a bit OTT. I stick by what I said about the diving though - and they had 2 sets of kits to cannibalise IIRC. The method he suggests is almost unworkabl read more...

Hi abbey, good review and it sounds like an interesting film. We don't have a cinema (Movietheater, do you call them?) here, so I never see anything unless it's old though.
