Only a fat 32 formatted usb drive works. There seems to be some limitations in the resolution of the avi files supported (I think avis more than a height of 480px do not work). I haven't tried AC3 in avi decoding, I just have a stereo TV. If you have more than one partition on your harddrive, the read more...
I think the USB has to be formatted as Fat32. I am trying to find what other file systems are supported.

Just an update: As haivenkat14 suggested, the prog key works. But there is still an issue with long file names. Seems to play vob files fine.
Update: It was not able to show .srt subtitles for one of the avi files. The computer seems to play the same avi with .srt fine. I hope Onida releases a firmware update.
I live in bangalore. I ordered it online on the MapMyIndia site and got it in 2 days. I am not sure about the servicing though.
