Well, I'm not going to post my life story or a CV over here. ;-p Ashish, by the numbers: 1. Born in Washington, DC to Malayalee parents who basically grew up outside the Deccan themselves...makes for 1 eclectic kid. 2. Loves music most, grew up listening to lots of Beatles (thanks 2 my folks!), pop and rock with some hindi songs thrown in the mix. 3. Went to London for Uni and would have liked to have stayed beyond the 3 years. 4. Fluent in English only, but can scrape along with French and smatterings of Hindi and Malayalam. One day I will master all 4. 5. My job working with NASA's Education Dept. is a steady 9to5, 5 days a week. Wish the weekends would last longer! 6. My birthday falls on the 16th of Jan. and I was only 6 when I got to visit India for the first time. 7. I am a Christian and while I may not be ultra religious, I am conservative in some ways, liberal in others. I attend church on Saturdays, the 7th day of the week. :-) 8. Used to be a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Troy Aikman (No.8) was my favourite player. These days I don't care for American football, I prefer the 'other' football and follow the Premier Leauge and Major League Soccer (DC United). 9. Nearly ended up with only 9 fingers when I accidently almost sliced my thumb off as a child! Fortunately I only have a very faint scar from that incident. 10. Back in 1995 I was a very impressionable 20 year old. Good fortune has smiled upon me and the intervening 10 years haven't aged me too much...on the outside, at least. ;-p. Music, Film, Books, Travel, Food, Art, etc.

Hi Samir, Cool review on different brands and styles. Always nice to compare and contrast. You have an interesting list...mostly hard rock / heavy metal until we get to.... ENYA! Well I'm not going to make any jokes about that, but I will say that I always find it curious that many from the subcontinent prefer 'classic' metal such as Metallica and the like. Meanwhile, bands that I p read more...

Hey Raj, What's up with those comments on Rahgav? I guess if you don't care for his remixes (or his style of music in general) then so be it. However, it's a bit much to go on and berate someone for being gay, if he is or isn't. Oh well, so he's not your cup of tea. I am not too read more...

We have similar shops here in the US. 'Dollar Stores', or some variation of that name, dot the landscape. Don't feel too bad, it isn't just India that is a dumping ground for cheap goods from China. It's hard to imagine how we got on without our mobiles before, but they can be a headache too. On a more random note, which word is used more? Mobile or Cellphone?
