AMT technology is not jugaad.It is derived from racing formula 1 car technology.The amt system is warrantied for 1 lakh kms.The clutch do come under warranty.All the cars of maruti rival ,hyundai, are designed and developed outside India.

Hi kulbhushan,I am from hyderabad.My celerio amt has run 500kms by now.As said in reviews,there are no big jerks or any such problems.It is too early to talk about mileage as the car is in running-in period.I am getting 15km/l now.hence ok for present.It will improve after 1000 kms. Jayant, there is no other car equipped with amt(automated manual transmission) other than celerio in India now.Hence there is no choice. Tata and mahindra are planning to make such cars.By next year,there could be alternatives to celerio amt.
Maruti imports the amt unit for the car from magneti marelli,italy.Maruti was not prepared to get enough of them according to demand.
