I read the book completely for the simple reason that 1. this book had won Booker prize 2. as an upcoming writer 3. the story is based in kottayam which comes in my home state.....it wasn't as slumbering as some people have commented.

I read Razors Edge during my college days I was so much put into thoughts of salvation and spirtuality by Maugham's writing. Maugham has influenced me the most after Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Nice review by Venchessa.

and when I listen to Jim Reeves he reminds me of our own Yesudas. No singer in India can match his voice.
Once ONV Kurup, poet and song writer in Malayalam said,' Every Malayali wake up and go to sleep listening to Yesudas' song. He's the soul of Malayalam film music.
