Sir,...please do not Treat it THE INDIAN WAY....am a sony vaio VGN CR 363 user....same problem is with mine...actually i never mind this as i thought it was my hard disk's fault ,and for the past 1 year i was using it ..some wht the indian way. as you said the service center guys may tell us to chan read more...

as you said about the battery,there is a power management software .if you use the software it will reduce the screen resolution to a half,32 bit of displayt will be changed to 16 bit ,hard disk RPM will be changed to a lower,buss transfer will be slow.. this all gives it a lower power usage and w read more...
