Sir,

Sub: Problems and Mental Agony faced during the last 6 months -

Split-Type Room air Conditioner - Defective Unit - Problems

Encountered - Frequent Check-up by Authorised Service Agent,Salem -

Follow up by Technicians from Chennai Office - Regd.

Ref: Model No. : AS18A1QE

I had purchased a Split-Type Room Air Conditioner from M/s. Sharptronics, Salem (Bill No. CR/7133 Dated 21/12/1999) in December. Till date, I would have hardly used the unit for 25 to 30 times. From the date of installation, the unit had been giving immense problem (water leakage in the indoor unit). For an umpteen number of times, I had contacted your Authorised Service Agent, Salem - Raji Cool Engineers. The staff in-charge Mr. Joe, had attended the work for so many times, but of no use. I had complained to Mr. Kupuraj, Authorised Distributor - Partner, Samsung - Salem, and to Mr. Ravi, Samsung Authorised Service Center, Salem, upon which the unit was reinstalled by Mr. Joe, Raji Cool Engineers, Salem. Even after reinstallation, they were not able to rectify the problem. Hence upon instructions from M/s. Sharptronics, Salem; the Chennai Regional Office Area Service Manager, Mr. Siva Kumar had contacted me over phone stating that he will send technician of Samsung India Electronics Ltd., Chennai to diagonise the problem.

It had been giving me nightmare for the past six months. Whenever I switched on the unit, I couldn’t sleep peacefully for the fear of leakage and damaging my Computer System which is kept just below it. Either I had to sleep without switching on the air conditioner unit else change the location of the Computer System, now & then so as to allow the unit to leak.

On 13th of July 2000, two technicians had come down from Chennai to attend the work. They again reinstalled the entire unit making fresh holes in my wall, stating that the installation work done by Salem Agent was improper. On completing the work, they assured that it will not leak any more. The two technicians sent by your Chennai Office were not companys’ technicians but franchisees’ technicians who turned out to be petty thieves (confirm the same from your Chennai Office Area Sales Manager Mr. Siva Kumar and Mr. Harish and Salem Samsung Office Mr. Ravi).

But to my surprise, from the 3rd day itself (i.e., 16/07/2000) the unit again started leaking. Now, on whom should I blame? I should put the blame on myself for it was my decision to go in for SAMSUNG product. Isn’t ??? Apart from the physical and mental agony I have been subjected to by Samsung Air Conditioner, I haven’t slept peacefully for the last six months with the air conditioner switched on, thanks to SAMSUNG INDIA ELECTRONICS LTD.,

Not withstanding any more, I request your goodself either to replace the unit or refund my cash within 3 days of the receipt of this letter / fax, failing which I would be forced to seek legal redressal.

Thanking You,

Yours truly,

Nitesh Kumar Jain N.
