Got the 1st service done at 1000kms :-)

Yup! Also got my 3rd fill on the bike. 277kms - 5.35 ltrs. It works out to 51kms/lt. So it seems to be the norm at the moment - while I am not using the pick up as much, and not going above 70-75kms/hr. That is awesome. I asked the engineer at Akash Motors and he said it should be giving 30-35ks/lt. When I told him that I was getting 50, he was a little surprised, but quickly added that it's about the way the bike is ridden. "Rider pur depend kurtha hai ji", was the quip I got from him.

The engineer was not too impressed wiith, and in fact critical of the only 2 things I had fitted on the bike - the handle grips and the additional cushioning on the seats. he was insistent oon --

1) The grips shorten the pull at the clutch handle and therefore not good for the bike.

2) The seats had additional cushioning and were not as per the customized, well researched seats provided by the company and he felt that this would not be good for my back.

All that said, it had become imperative for me to put handle grips on the bike as the forward stance of the rider puts immense pressure on the hands of the rider, as well as my bottoms ad been raw as a result of the same.

The bike seems to be sounding better after an oil change and that is of course great to hear. I have begun to gently use a little bit of pick up here and there and am loving it. I DO feel that there seems to be a bit of a clatter in the engine sound when picking up. Let's wait and watch....
