First & foremost....
I have received messages, posts and comments saying the readers can not believe the average I am getting on the new R-15, 2.0. I can understand your disbelief guys. I too continue to get flabbergasted by the average I keep getting. I MUST reiterate though - I AM telling the truth. I maintain a constant excel sheet on all my vehicles and will try and paste the results below for this R--15. But before that, let me tell you a bit about my experiences so far.
After the 1st service at 1000kms, I have been beginning to accelerate and use a bit of pick up, as well as passing the 80kms/hr mark. The bike is behaving excellently, except for a clatter in the engine on high revs (about 5500RPM and above). I may be imagining this or it may be real, cos I haven't ridden the bike without a helmet to really hear the engine. The pick up iis smooth, and in 6th gear, it really takes off. I have fun plodding away at 60kms/hr. and then accelerating past unsuspecting motorist who had been watching the bike - zooming past them within seconds. It really pulls away from them in 6th gear. It's still looking brand new and getting envious glances from people around :-)
Well.... to the question I have been getting from all readers about the average. Yes! I just got it filled again at 1413kms. I filled 6.72 ltrs. The previous fill had been at 1047. 1413 - 1047 = 366. 366kms / 6.72ltrs = 54.46 kms/ltr. It IS amazing - I don't understand the increase in average although I am also increasing pick up and speeds. I know you guys don't believe me, and I can't help that. If anyone's been keeping track, my posts etc should tell you that the km readings I have been getting the tank filled at, are correct and as per what I am reporting. Only i can guarantee that the amount I have filled and am reporting are the same. I can only reiterate. I AM telling the truth guys. I am going to paste my excel sheet below and hope it forms some positive belief amongst the non-believers. I shall also attach a print-screen as an image with this post cos, the excel pasting might not be too clear....
