i just bought my HItachi so I hope that it will work without any service issues. I even bought a refundable 3 year extended warranty from Tata Croma for piece of mind. I suggest that all people buy electronics and expensive items from reputed stores so that you get uniform service.

I bought mine from Tata Croma. They sent in trained technicans who installed the AC professionally. The AC is so quiet that sometimes I feel that damn thing is off! I am very happy with Hitachi and I believe that a wrong installation actually caused the malfunction.

Thanks. I was thinking of Samsung and Carrier. But after reading your posting Carrier is out too. And Samsung is running fine for you so that's good. The problem I have heard with samsung is with their after sales service.

Thanks for your comments. I was planning a Samsung but now will not. Too bad MNCs such as Samsung come to India and forget all their business ethics. Samsung USA would not dare do such a thing. They would have in fact not only replaced your AC but also thrown in some free bees such as air filters or read more...

Why would SuKam not have an integrated service plan? And the fact that they are not responding on Mouthshut shows that they are an old world player who don't understand and respect the power of the Web. I was planning on buying SuKam but will not do so anymore.

Not sure if you are still using MTNL. But I can tell you that if you have a parallel line in your house, make sure that the connection is made after the DSL splitter. If Not, then you are going to have what the MTNL techy told me, 'grounding' which is going to make your connection inconsistent.
