While I completely adore the song Yeh Rishta from Meenaxi, which has excellent new voice intorduced by Rahman, I think the prize for best vocal should go to Sonu Nigam for singing the amazing, semi-classical song 'Tujh sang' from Dev. Even though we both loved this movie, I see that we have some different taste here... Even though this song off-lined the core subject of this movie a little, I thought it was necessary for Vidya's characterization. I liked the way Varma picturized this song. This awesome song is from movie Seema (1971),, it was composed by the magical duo Shankar Jaikishan, written by one of my favourite lyricist Gulzar, and sung by Rafi and Sharda. Good choices, btw. || Vishal ||
