Those were tense days in the “Human Creation Lab” up there in the great heaven, in the summer of 1984. The Pro-Om group proposed a bill in the Heaven’s Parliament to once again create a Perfect Human being on earth while the anti-om group proposed there views against it. “Adhyaksh Mahoday, this is kalyug and a perfect human being inspite of all the money and effort we spend may not turn out perfect even though we create him that way.” Finally after many debates, walkouts and discussions later, the bill was finally passed. The perfect parents were chosen to nurture this perfect human, the perfect country (India) was finalized and all the preparations were done. The project was given the name AVTAR5. “We have finalized that the Human created in the AVTAR5 project would be extremely good looking and about 5 feet 10 inches when he grows up”, said the chief designer and project head of AVTAR5 Mr. Brahma in a press conference. He refused to divulge more details. Again after a lot of discussion and debate the name of the human being in the project AVTAR5 was chosen. “He is going to be called Om”, screamed the headlines of NARAD TIMES.

But then a sting operation to derail the project was planned by the anti-Om group. They send their assassin in the form of female anopheles mosquito loaded with Plamodium who bit Mrs. Lakhani who was pregnant carrying the fetus called Om. The end result was tense moments in the Gynec ward before the birth, a cesarean and an underweight IUGR baby was born. Mr. Brahma was shocked seeing his creation in such a bad state about which he could do nothing but pray. They say IUGR babies hardly survive and if they do, they would either be ugly or permanently deformed or mentally retarded. Call it a miracle or the good work of AVTAR5 team in choosing the parents that this lean skeleton baby came back to pink of health and grew up up to be just like Brahma had planned. But the story doesn’t end here…………

People say that there has been some mistakes in the AVTAR5 project. First and foremost is that they have not decided a single path for this human being. He is not told whether he has to grow up and be a doctor or something else. The fact is that since he comes from a Medical family and is currently studying in Medical College, Baroda the former seems very possible, but his heart lies elsewere. This Human actually wants to be a film director ! On one hand he is academically very sound on the other hand he is extremely creative Also there are more bugs in project. Inspite of being perfect the AVTAR5 product has been unlucky in love, not once, but twice. He is mildly self destructive, sort of lazy and extremely arrogant. So was there a fault in the AVTAR5 project ? Is there a hand of anti-om group ? Is the supposedly perfect human really perfect ? Only time would tell...
