My favourite authors are DH Lawrence (dont go by his ’’Lady Chatterly’s Lover’’ alone - his ’’Sons and Lovers’’ is a masterpiece in depicting emotions.), Daphne du Maurier (again, the more famous ’’Rebecca’’ is a shade below the lesser known ’’My Cousin Rachel’’. For the quick masala fix I turn to Wibur Smith sometimes. And Dick Francis.

Music - Jagjit is a distinct favorite. Kishore Kumar and Hemant Kumar are up there too.

Movies - ’’How Green Was My Valley’’ was wonderful, and so was ’’Scent of a Woman’’
