Are you sure the suspension is good ? Because I bought the Vxi about 8 months back and I noticed that the suspension was totally unable to mask out the uneven roads. I think you need to take a hard look at the ride quality. Even though its a drivers car, and it comes with all wheel independant Mc Pherson Struts that put it in the Lancer category, the suspensions are really stiff. They transmit all the bumps on the road as it is to the occupants of the car. Marut read more...

I was not so impressed with the ride quality. I bought a new BSIII Vxi in Dec of 2005. All other aspects I loved the car except the suspensions ability to reduce effects of uneven roads. But probably due to this tinkering of suspensions by Maruti, my cars base doesnt scrap the ground on bumpy roads

I had bought a baleno vxi in late dec of 2005. I 've had a problem with ground clearance only once in the 6000 odd km I drove it. I think you have bought the Lxi and have the standard tires on. I had bought the Vxi in dec of last year. I can assure you the 185 tires can take care of the skidding/braking problem.
