The reason for mandatory 3 mnths period: 1) Attrition control on paper 2) Billing. Mostly resources on project so they get the billing. This is true for all orgs 3) Company gets buffer to get new resource on board

Mistake Friend! Never ever join IBM (at lest I know IBM India) on lower salary. If you are looking at IBM just as a stop over for year or so then it's OK. You'll find yourself on same salary year after year.
